So sorry to hear of Arlene's passing. I delivered her paper to her for several years when I was a young man looking to make a living. Her talented daughter Mary was a classmate of mine and for 4 years handily did not allow me to advance in the trombone section at AHS.(Hi Mary) Her son Tom was OK.(Hi Tom) Her son Steve I did not know but I've heard he was a talented and very nice guy. In all sincerity to the whole family, I'm sorry for your loss. Jon Knipfer Algoma

Our condolences to the whole family. Your Mom was truly one of a kind. To Mary: So sad to lose your Mom. She was your cheerleader. Every time we made contact she never failed to tell me what you were doing and how your music was progressing. We are unable to attend the viewing or funeral because I have minor surgery scheduled for that exact time at Bellin. We will, however, send a check for $25 to the Friends of the Library in memorial of your Mom.

God bless Arlene. I loved her like my own. I recently spent an hour with her when she had a bad day. We cried and a nd then laughed our way to a better day. I will miss her and the music. Love and a hug. Mary Jo Gerrits

Emerald Conley and I (Daughter Kitti) last visited her about 2 weeks ago. She was still quite alert to our presence, even though she was sick. Her nickname for mom "Emmy" always made us laugh, her stories, and photos I captured while with her will be treasured, and I will share to any who wish. I am back in Ohio and mom at Woodside Nursing home, I am sorry we will not be in attendance to celebrate Arlene's life. Please feel free to use her off White Afghan mom made last year anyway you choose. She loved it, and mom enjoyed making it for her. Be Blessed, dear family.
