Leonard J. Lemens, 75, of Luxemburg, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Sunday evening August 30, 2015 at Anna's House, New Franken WI. He was born on May 31, 1940 to the late George and Mary (Gauthier) Lemens. He attended Luxemburg High School and graduated in 1958. He then proudly served his country for two years in the United States Navy as an original crew member on the USS Independence. On November 3, 1962, he married Janice Renard at St. Mary of the Snow Catholic Church in Namur. They celebrated 52 years of marriage. Together, with Len's family, they owned Lemens Hardware until 1990. In 1986 Len and Janice purchased Lemens WaterCare and worked there together until their retirement in 2005. Len was well known throughout the community. He was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Luxemburg where he served as a lector for many years. When his children were young, Len enjoyed serving as a board member and president on the St. Mary's School Board as well as a basketball coach for their youth basketball program. He was a past board member and president of Northbrook Country Club and served on the Grounds and House Committees for many years. He was also a board member and president of the Luxemburg Chamber of Commerce and received the "Man of the Year" award in 1992. Len enjoyed his time as chairman of the Luxemburg Village Centennial Committee in 2008. He enjoyed golfing, especially in the Thursday Night Men's League at Northbrook, woodworking, spending time in his woods with his friends, hunting, traveling, and spending time with family at his cottage.

Len is survived by his wife Janice, his children Patti (Bruce) Seidl, Luxemburg; Paul (Susan) Lemens, Green Bay; and Cindy (Tim) Kinnard, Casco; grandchildren Tyler (Karissa) Seidl, Zachary (special friend Danielle) Seidl, Kyle Seidl, Sydney Lemens, Jake Lemens, Rachel (special friend Dan) Kinnard, and Travis (special friend Demi) Kinnard; two sisters Lucille (Jonas) Barbiaux and Irma Daul; one brother Harold (Berdina) Lemens; as well as many nieces and nephews.
