Michelle M. SteffenNovember 1, 2014
Michelle M. Steffen, 54, Algoma, died in her home with family and pets by her side on Saturday November 1, 2014. She was a woman with a big heart and a creative spirit. She was self-employed as a seamstress for Sew What?. She had a love for life and everything in it. She was brave and strong willed to the very end, ensured us all that she was at peace. A good friend to many and a woman missed dearly, who was eager to both teach and learn. She was preceded in death by her mother Rosemary, her father George and sister Sheri. She is survived by her children Tony (Anne) Young, Diana (Adam) Feest, her four grandchildren and her five siblings. Friends and family are invited to gather at Crossroads Presbyterian Church 6031 W. Chapel Rd, Mequon on Friday December 5th at 3:00pm, with service at 4:00 and a visiting reception to follow. A small ceremony will be held at a future date in the spring for the spreading of her ashes.
A special thanks to Christina Smith, her home nurse who went above and beyond. She helped us through some hard times and truly fought for her care. To the St. Lukes Surgical ICU team and the others that tended her. For taking such good care of her and the many smiles you put on her face. To the hospice nurses that helped make her last few days as comfortable as possible. Also to the friends and family that supported her in her last few months and prior. In lieu of flowers Michelle wished donations be made to the St. Lukes transplant program or to the Violence Intervention Project in Algoma.
Wiesner and Massart Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be shared here.
