Vincent Xavier Delain Sr. was born Aug. 5, 1927, in Algoma, Wis., to Fred and Mary (Vandervest) Delain and died June 1, 2012, at the age of 84. He attended Algoma High School and was an active member and State Officer of the Future Farmers of America. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States navy. He loved telling stories of his adventures "up north," laughing, and playing cards.

He was a life-long member and trustee for St. Peter Catholic Church and a longtime Holy Name Society member. Vincent served on the school boards for the LaFayette, Casco, and Luxemburg-Casco School Districts.
